Changes in medicine purchases

The reimbursement of medicines by the Kone’s Benefit Fund for the Operatives has changed as of 1 August. According to the new rule, medicines are reimbursed at a rate of 90% of the reference price of the medicine. This means that the insured person’s deductible is usually 10% of the reference price of the medicine. The pharmacy will continue to process both Kela’s reimbursement and the insurance fund’s share at the same time, and the insured person will only pay their own deductible at the pharmacy.

Please note the following exceptions:

  • If the price of the medicine exceeds the reference price, you will also pay the part that exceeds the reference price.
  • If Kela’s annual medicine ceiling has already been reached before the medicine purchase, you usually only pay Kela’s medicine-specific deductible, EUR 2.50.
  • The deductible for medicines subject to special reimbursement is determined in accordance with Kela’s rules. For a higher medicine subject to special reimbursement, the deductible is EUR 4.50 per medicine.
  • If the 10% deductible of the reference price of the medicine to be reimbursed is less than EUR 4.50, you will pay EUR 4.50 at the pharmacy. You can obtain additional reimbursement from the fund for this share.

Iris Claims messages and tracking replenishment requests

Messages sent by the Benefit Fund electronic compensation service Iris currently come from [email protected].

We have noticed that some email systems direct messages from this address to spam or quarantine. For this reason, we recommend that Iris’s own contact information is primarily marked with an email address other than the employer’s. The security filtering of work emails may prevent Iris’s messages from reaching their destination, and unfortunately the Benefit Fund cannot influence the settings of employers’ email systems.

We also recommend that you check the status of your application directly from Iris about 2-3 weeks after sending the application, especially if you have not yet received a message about the compensation decision. This way, any requests for additional information on the application will not go unnoticed, even if the emails sent by Iris have been sent to spam or quarantine.

Kone’s Employee Benefit Fund’s autumn 2026 fund meeting

The Benefit Fund has confirmed the date of the fund meeting in autumn 2026.

Statutory autumn meeting

  • Tuesday 10.11.2026 at 14.00
  • The meeting deals with statutory matters, such as the election of persons to the Board of Directors of the Benefit Fund. Each year, two members of the Board of Directors and their deputy members resign from the Board.

The official notice of the meeting and more detailed information will be delivered to the insured closer to the time of the meeting.
