Expansion of the Fund’s Scope of Coverage
The rules of the Kone’s Employee Benefit Fund for Dtaff Fund have been revised, and as a result, the fund’s scope of coverage has been expanded.
Under the new rules, employees who were not eligible to become incured members under the previous rules may now also join the fund.
Eligibility for membership in the Health Insurance Fund requires that:
- the employment relationship lasts for at least six (6) months; and
- the employment relationship enables the regular monthly deduction of the insurance contribution from salary.
However, a person whose employment contract does not specify a minimum working time requirement (a so-called zero-hours contract with no agreed minimum working hours) cannot be enrolled in the fund.
Due to the transition period, joining the Benefit Fund under the new rules is possible until 30 September 2026. After this date, joining will no longer be possible for persons who were not covered by the fund under the employment conditions applicable before the rule change but who fall within the fund’s scope of coverage under the new rules. Employees whose employment begins after the new rules enter into force will be enrolled automatically as insured members of the fund, as membership is mandatory.
If you believe that you fall within the scope of coverage under the new rules, are not currently insured by the fund, and wish to join, please contact your company’s payroll department no later than 30 September 2026. The payroll department can verify whether your employment relationship meets the requirements for joining the fund.

Messages at Iris services
Messages sent by Iris eservices, the benefit Fund’s electronic claims service, are now sent from [email protected].
We have observed that some email systems direct messages from this address to junk mail folders or quarantine them. For this reason, we recommend that members record a personal email address, rather than their employer-provided email address, as their primary contact information in Iris. Security filtering at work email systems may prevent Iris messages from being delivered, and unfortunately the Benefit Fund cannot influence the settings of employers’ email systems.
We also recommend checking the status of your claim directly in Iris approximately 2 to 3 weeks after submitting the application, especially if you have not yet received a message regarding the reimbursement decision. This helps ensure that any requests for additional information related to your claim do not go unnoticed, even if emails sent by Iris have been redirected to junk mail or quarantine folders.
Benefit Fund’ Annual Meetings, Autumn 2026
The Board of Directors of Kone’s Employee Benefit Fund for Staff has confirmed the dates of its annual meetings for autumn 2026.
The Fund will hold two meetings this autumn:
Statutory Autumn Meeting
- Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
- The meeting will address statutory matters, including elections to the Fund’s Board of Directors. Each year, two board members and their deputy members are due to retire from the board.
Extraordinary Fund Meeting
- Wednesday, 18 November 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
- The meeting will consider amendments to the Fund’s rules proposed by the Board.
By separating the meetings, the Fund aims to streamline meeting procedures, shorten the duration of individual meetings, and improve insured members’ opportunities to participate in decision-making.
Official meeting invitations and more detailed information will be provided to insured members closer to the meeting dates.
