New Rules of the Benefit Fund Have Entered into Force
The Financial Supervisory Authority has confirmed the rule changes decided at the spring meeting of the Kone Employee Benefit Fund for Staff. However, some proposed changes were not accepted as such due to regulatory or legal reasons. Below is a summary of the changes made by the authority:
Section 22: The Financial Supervisory Authority determined that the application period for reimbursements cannot be extended. Therefore, this section remains unchanged. The application period is still 6 months.
Section 33: The proposed restriction on voting rights for the Fund’s CEO or other employees was not accepted. As insured members of the Fund, their voting rights cannot be limited. Issues of disqualification must be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Sections 37 and 38: These sections partly overlapped. According to the authority’s guidance, Section 37 was revised to remove items already covered in Section 38, such as meeting time, location, participation method, agenda, and availability of meeting documents. Section 38 was updated to include the participation method.
All other rule changes decided at the spring meeting were approved. The new rules officially entered into force on October 20, 2025, as confirmed by the Financial Supervisory Authority.
